American Print Management FAQs

American Print Management differs in three key ways. First, unlike many firms that promote print management services, we are not a print supplier or broker. e-LYNXX works as an extension of each of its client's procurement activities - never as a broker, never as a print supplier, and never standing between its buyer clients and their printers. We have no direct interest (financially or otherwise) in any supplier that actually provides your print services. Our interest is ensuring that your suppliers are qualified to perform your work based on your own specified requirements. Second, we do not replace your suppliers. Rather, we create an environment in which you realize significant cost savings using your own trusted suppliers. Third, we do not get between you and your suppliers, reselling your own print back to you with a markup. What we do is facilitate the execution of our patented procurement method through our technology and services. Our business success is built around the offering of (1) a patented competitive method; (2) 10 best business practices; (3) a workflow and communication system for the facilitation of the patented method and the best business practices; and (4) experts in print. .

Our patented procurement approach, otherwise known as The Gindlesperger Method, is a revolutionary purchasing system for obtaining the lowest competitive price for specification-defined goods and services based on the open production capacity of pre-qualified suppliers. American Print Management has successfully used The Gindlesperger Method since 1998 in the commercial print industry to reduce the procured print spend of our clients by an historical average of 42% and saved them millions of dollars. Unlike store-front and e-catalogue systems that manage the procurement of inventoried or commercial-off-the-shelf items produced in advance and warehoused until purchased, The Gindlesperger Method is utilized in any industry or area of spend management that involves goods and services that are ordered to precise and unique specifications and produced following order.

American Print Management uses a web-based management system developed by e-LYNXX, the parent company of American Print Management. This software enables an organization to administer and manage its entire print management process starting from a creative idea and initial specification through all subsequent revisions, approvals, procurement, production, receiving and billing.

There are a number of ways that American Print Management can be compensated for its services, technology and intellectual property. Our standard arrangement is based on a gain-share model with charges based on success. In this arrangement, there are no up-front charges, ongoing retainers or fees for IT integration, customization or tailoring. Our only charge is a small percentage of the measurable cost reduction derived from our services. Other compensation methods, including technology seat licenses, patent licensing and fee-for-service are available to suit specific client requirements.

Yes. American Print Management does not represent or in any way endorse specific suppliers to be used in the procurement of your print services. We encourage clients to invite any or all trusted suppliers into their supplier pool.

The number of recommended suppliers depends on the complexity of your product and quality requirements. We subscribe to the belief that you can never have too many suppliers as a larger supplier pool enhances the probability of locating open idle production capacity when projects are available. We recommend that our clients maintain at least ten active qualified suppliers for each unique product-quality category.

During the deployment phase of our relationship, American Print Management will, if necessary, assist you in locating additional qualified suppliers that meet the specific criteria in short supply. Through our collective government and commercial businesses, we maintain a database that contains thousands of print suppliers. This source can be leveraged to locate and invite additional suppliers. In the end it is the choice of our clients that dictates the suppliers invited to participate in their own respective programs.

Clients typically supply American Print Management with a list of suppliers with which they have established favorable working relationships. The client then determines specific objective attributes that represent qualitative and quantitative supplier characteristics. These attributes typically include print production capability, quality performance levels and supplier profile information. Once attributes are established, we objectively qualify each supplier using an objective quality assurance program.

All key client and supplier stakeholders need to be trained on use of the web-based management system. Client training is thorough and can be performed at the location of your choosing. Supplier training is straightforward and is typically completed over a few hours through a virtual web-based environment. Once trained, your key stakeholders have access to client services specialists that assist them with ongoing support.
